What is a kitchen remodel visualizer?
It's a tool that shows a kitchen remodel before it's built: cabinet color and door style, countertops, backsplash, flooring, hardware and lighting, in a picture or 3D view. Homeowners use it to decide. Contractors, cabinet shops and dealers use it to sell, because a kitchen is the biggest check most homeowners write, and they won't sign for something they can't picture.
The big difference between visualizers is whose kitchen you see: a sample kitchen, one you drew, one photo, or the real kitchen you can walk around.
What types of kitchen remodel visualizers are there?
| Type | How it works | Good for | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brand visualizer (sample kitchens) | Pick a sample kitchen, then swap one maker's cabinet doors, finishes, counters, backsplash tile or flooring | Choosing products from a specific cabinet or surface brand | It isn't the client's kitchen, and only that brand's products |
| 3D kitchen planner | Draw the room and place cabinets and appliances, then view it in 3D | Layouts, cabinet sizes and fitting an island | Takes time to learn and draw; looks like a model, not the real room |
| AI photo visualizer | Upload one photo and the AI restyles it or adds products you pick | Quick style ideas | One angle only, and AI often changes things that should stay |
| 360° tour of the real kitchen | 2 photos of the real kitchen become a 360° before & after with your planned changes | Showing a client exactly what you're quoting, in their own kitchen | A visualization for selling, not exact cabinet sizes |

If you're choosing one brand's cabinets or surfaces
A brand visualizer is the fastest way to compare that maker's door styles, finishes or quartz colors, because the catalog is built in. The kitchen just isn't yours.
If you're working out the layout
Use a 3D planner or your cabinet designer's software. It's the right tool when the question is "does the island fit?" rather than "will we love it?".
If you're selling the job
Show the client their own kitchen. When they see their window, their layout and the range that stays, with the new cabinets and counters drawn in, the doubt about "will it look right in my kitchen?" goes away. That's what Remodel in 360 is built for.
How does Remodel in 360's kitchen visualizer work?
Take 2 photos
From the doorway and from the far corner, with a normal phone camera. No 360 camera, no measuring, no drawing.
Say what changes
Type or dictate it in plain words: "white shaker cabinets, quartz counters, subway tile backsplash, keep the window and the range". Edit the change list before the tour is drawn.
Send the tour
About 6 minutes later you have a 360° before & after with every change labeled, plus before/after sliders and one link for WhatsApp, text or email.
Each tour includes 2 change rounds, so "what about navy lower cabinets?" gets a new version in about 2 minutes, while you're still with the client.
What can you visualize in a kitchen remodel?
- Cabinets: color, door style, two-tone, hardware, or refacing
- Countertops: quartz, granite, butcher block, waterfall island
- Backsplash: subway, zellige, slab or full-height tile
- Flooring: wood, LVP or tile
- Paint, lighting, sink and faucet finishes
- Two options for a client who can't decide, one change round each
It works best for remodels that keep the room's shape. For moved walls, plumbing or a brand-new layout, use your designer's plans or 3D rendering software as well.

How do you get a realistic result from a kitchen visualizer?
- Photograph the real room: one photo from the doorway, one from the far corner, so every wall is covered
- Use the 0.5× wide lens if your phone has it, and turn on all the lights, including under-cabinet lights
- Clear the counters and close the cabinet doors
- Say what stays, not only what changes, so the window, range or layout don't move
- Don't move the sink or range in the picture unless it's in the price: moving water, gas or a vent costs real money
Every Remodel in 360 tour says it's an AI visualization for selling, not a construction drawing. Cabinet sizes and anything no photo shows are approximate.
Why do contractors use a visualizer of the client's real kitchen?
A homeowner looks at a sample kitchen and thinks "nice, but my kitchen is different". When they see their own kitchen, with their own window and layout, that doubt goes away, and they stop comparing bids on price alone. More on that in why homeowners pick the cheapest contractor.
At our own remodeling company, our close rate went from 3 in 10 estimates to 5–6 in 10 after we started sending 360° tours.
It runs in your phone's browser, there's no design program to learn, and your client opens one link with no app or account. See also kitchen remodel software for contractors and our AI kitchen remodel guide.
