What is Polycam, and what does it cost?
Polycam is a 3D capture app for iPhone, Android and the web. It scans rooms and objects with LiDAR or photos, makes floor plans and measurements, and creates Gaussian splats. Designers, architects, real estate photographers, contractors and game artists use it.
There's a free tier, but it limits exports. Capterra lists Basic at $30 per user per month and Business at $400 per user per year, with Enterprise on request (October 2026); other sources put Pro at about $26.99/month depending on how you subscribe. Check poly.cam for current pricing.
Why do people look for Polycam alternatives?
- Common export formats like OBJ, FBX and STL need a paid plan
- The price has gone up, and plans differ by app store and billing channel
- Best room scans need a LiDAR iPhone or iPad Pro
- Real estate and construction teams want floor plans and reports, not just a 3D model
- For remodel sales, a scan shows the room as it is today; the client needs to see the finished job

Prices from each company's site or listings on Capterra and SkyeBrowse, checked October 2026. App prices change often, so confirm before you buy. 1. Remodel in 360: best Polycam alternative for remodel sales
Polycam captures a room as it is. For a remodel sale, the client already knows what their room looks like today. Remodel in 360 shows what it will become: take 2 phone photos at the estimate, say what changes, and about 6 minutes later the client walks through their own kitchen or bathroom in 360°, before and after, with every change labeled.
At our own remodeling company, our close rate went from 3 in 10 estimates to 5–6 in 10 after we started sending 360° tours.
- The finished room, not a scan of the current one
- 2 change rounds per tour, about 2 minutes each
- One link for WhatsApp, text or email, no app for your client
- Plans: Starter $49/month (4 tours), Pro $99 (12), Team $249 (35). See pricing
The tradeoff: no scanning, measurements or 3D exports. Many contractors scan or measure with one tool and sell with Remodel in 360.

Is there a free Polycam alternative?
Yes. Scaniverse's core app is free with unlimited on-device scans, and KIRI Engine and Luma AI have free tiers. magicplan, Matterport, Kuula and CloudPano have free plans, and Remodel in 360's first full tour is free with no card.
How do you choose the right Polycam alternative?
Name the output
A 3D model, a floor plan, measurements, a point cloud for CAD, a 360 tour, or a picture of the finished job.
Check your phone
Many room scanners need LiDAR. If your team uses Android, look at Scaniverse or KIRI Engine.
Check the exports
Make sure the format you need (OBJ, DWG, point cloud) is on the plan you'd pay for.
Separate measuring from selling
A scan helps you price the job. Showing the finished room helps the client sign. See how to present a remodeling estimate.
When should you stay with Polycam?
If you need flexible 3D scanning of rooms, objects and sites, with LiDAR, photogrammetry, splats and floor plans in one app, Polycam is a strong all-rounder. Remodel in 360 doesn't scan or measure; it shows the remodel.
